Jed Marson

Jed is the Vice Chair of the Green LibDems nationally, Jed advocates a just transition to an electrified economy and was an early proposer of Windfall Taxes on energy companies. The national upgrade to broadband, which Jed lobbied for, has helped many people work from home for a better work life balance.

Jed has consistently championed the European Single Market to restore fresh, affordable food for our local communities and bring back export trade opportunities for small businesses. The Tory and Labour silence on the Single Market means an enormous lingering lost opportunity.

We voted, have now tried Brexit, without the Single Market and found Brexit wanting. Nobody likes being made a fool of.

Stopping migration on the small boats needs two way respect. The backlog of refugees and homeless people in Tamworth hotels needs a genuine housing policy. The solution is more social housing, carefully placed, on work routes, with schools, doctors' surgeries and amenities, while protecting the best green belt land for farming. The Lib Dems promise 150,000 new homes a year. We need to help create an inviting town centre with shops open and venues we can use.

Jed will also push for better flood schemes to be in place before the expected challenges of climate change hit Tamworth.
