Want a councillor with our area’s interests at heart?

Every vote will count in December as we vote for the replacement for Conservative Nikki Hawkins who resigned her position as a District Councillor.

I lived in Handsacre for 21 years, before moving to Lichfield. My work as an NHS manager and registered nurse of over 40 years’ standing has provided me with the tools and the drive to make things happen.

My experience with voluntary and other community groups over the years has given me a clear understanding of many of the problems faced by the residents here, such as anti-social behaviour, speeding cars and electric bicycles, and dogs fouling public paths, among other matters affecting us all, and effective ways in which they can be tackled.

If elected to the District Council, I will be working for you as part of an effective team of eight Lib Dem councillors.\

Change with integrity

The Conservative Party is in disarray. The Labour government consistently fails to deliver on its promises. We understand that the country wants change – but not change at any price.

Reform UK claim to be the workers’ party. It sounds good, but their MPs have consistently voted against expansion and protection of workers’ rights. Farage is funded by billionaires, especially those with ultra-right wing views. He is not the workers’ friend. He doesn’t care about the “little people”.
Reform’s local government promises have come to nothing, as county councils such as Staffordshire, led by often inexperienced incompetent Reform groups, fail to find the promised financial savings.

By comparison, the Lib Dem councillors on Lichfield District Council work all year round for the benefit of residents. They work together with other parties, as when a Lib Dem plan for solar panels on council buildings was voted through, and oppose ideas which do not benefit the community. The Lib Dems voted against giving £1,700,000 of council money to a pub chain (the only political group to do so).

Ed Davey and the Liberal Democrats are the only party calling out Reform UK and their ‘Trump-lite’ divisive messages of hatred and division. We believe we are better than that, as shown by Liberal Democrats winning more by-elections in October this year than any other party. We can and do consistently win against Reform.

Use your vote

If you have a postal vote, please use it to elect a Liberal Democrat councillor with your interests at heart, who will fight for the residents of the Armitage with Handsacre ward.
