Stowe Liberal Democrat Councillors
Hugh Ashton (District)
After returning to the UK from Japan in 2016, I renewed my relationship with the Liberal Democrats (I had been a Young Liberal in my youth), and was elected as a City Councillor for Garrick Road ward (now part of Chadsmead) in 2019. Working with other Lib Dem councillors, and in various volunteer activities, including helping with Places of Welcome, and Covid vaccination clinics in Lichfield and Tamworth, I have experienced great satisfaction in being able to improve the lives of others. I now look forward to being able to continue with this as a City Councillor representing Chadsmead, and as a District Councillor representing Stowe. I sit on the District Council's Planning and Licensing Committees, as well as the City Council’s Grants and Neighbourhood Plan groups and work with outside bodies such as the Historic Parks group.

Paul McDermott (City)
After graduating from Manchester University with a degree in Paper Science I moved to Lichfield with my wife in 1974 to take up a position with a speciality UK paper mill initially looking after their Midlands sales region and then with responsibility for national and European sales. In 1991 I set up my own agency business to represent in the UK and Ireland a number of continental paper manufacturers; this business continued until I retired in 2022. I have strong roots in Lichfield as both my sons were born here and they, along with their families, still live in South Staffordshire. I continue to be involved in a voluntary capacity with various local organisations
I have been a City councillor representing Stowe ward since 2019 and I am currently leader of the Lib Dem group on the City Council. I consider it a privilege to have been able to represent the interests of the residents of the ward and of the city as a whole.

Scott Hollingsworth (City)
My career was in teaching and local government education. I will use my knowledge of how councils work to benefit all Lichfield residents. I have been a supporter of Lichfield Arts for many years and have longstanding local family and social connections in the area.
