The prime minister must apologise to every young person who falls short of their expected grades and misses out on the university places they deserve this week.
This cohort of students should be proud of the results they get in the face of unprecedented challenges.
They achieved this despite Conservative Ministers who ignored the scale of the chaos that the pandemic caused to children’s studies.
