Lib Dem candidate Morag Maclean backs Pride In Your Community Days

3 Dec 2025

Morag Maclean, Liberal Democrat candidate in the Armitage with Handsacre by-election, speaks about the importance of community.

“It’s the little things that matter,” she says. “When people drop litter in the streets and don’t care, or if graffiti on walls and street signs so on becomes a regular thing, people lose all sense of pride in the places where they live.

“Even the state of the street signs giving the names of roads, whether they are clean or dirty, say something about the neighbourhood.

“If I am elected as a member of Lichfield District Council to represent the people of Armitage with Handsacre, I will work to establish Pride in your Community Days that have proved to be so successful in some wards in Lichfield City.

“These Days, campaigned for by the Lib Dems, and held in conjunction with local parish councils, police, and with other community groups, have provided skips to allow residents to dispose of large items of waste, a way of disposing of refrigerators, washing machines and the like without charge, and tidying up weed- and litter-infested corners of the area.”

Morag Maclean worked as a nurse and NHS manager, and lived in Handsacre for 20 years before moving to Lichfield City.
