The Lib Dems have launched their campaign in the constituency covering Lichfield, Burntwood and the villages.

Paul ray says:

“The country and here in Lichfield, Burntwood and the villages, we are desperate for a change of direction away from this awful Conservative government which has trashed the economy and run our public services into the ground.

And the Liberal Democrats have the policies to give our country a positive future. I am looking forward to setting these out for the voters in our area. Our key policies are;

NHS AND SOCIAL CARE

Everyone to have a legal right to see their GP within a week or 24hrs if it is urgent. We know how difficult it is to see a GP in our area.

And a fundamental point that Lib Dems understand is that to fix the NHS, you have to fix care too and the Lib Dems are the voice of our 9 million carers.

ECONOMY AND COST OF LIVING CRISIS

We cannot rebuild our economy unless we repair our broken relationship with Europe.

ENVIRONMENT AND SEWAGE DUMPING

We must end the scandal of sewage dumping into our rivers for good. We would ban bonuses for water bosses until this ends and replace Ofwat with a tough new regulator.

HOUSING

Our housing market is fundamentally unfair and broken. We know this only too well in our area. We would build 150,000 social homes each year and protect renters by banning no-fault evictions.

And we would fund this by a fair taxation system so that the tax burden does not fall disproportionately on lower earners.

Also we also deserve so much better than Michael Fabricant as our MP and the Liberal Democrats have the platform to build a better future for our country and area.”
